My Background
I received my MA in Exhibition and Museum Studies from the San Francisco Art Institute as well as a BA in Painting and Printmaking from San Jose State University. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area (currently living in New York), My art and writing is an ever evolving investigation of understanding my narrative of the Filipino-American experience while coping with the experience of my own degrading mental and physical health.

I work with as many mediums I have access to. I love painting, ceramics, weaving, whittling, drawing, writing, just about anything that affords me a creative outlet. I often say I'm cursed. I'm cursed with the compulsion to create whether I enjoy it or if it drives me crazy, I just have to create.
It is an evolution I am interested in seeing unfold, especially with my degrading mental and physical faculties.

Art does not inform my art practice, my life informs my art practice. That being said, the art I create is intimately connected to me and my life in one form or the other. When you see my art, you will see snippets of my experiences, thoughts, questions, happiness, sadness, desires, shame, distress, elation, and what it is that makes me who I am.
Sometimes it is easy to interpret, other times it is difficult. I leave it up to you, the viewer, to determine your emotional connection with it; not how I want you to interpret it. Enjoy :)
